NEW MEASURES REJECTED.

Lourhr-ur was present at a Kitting of the Chamber Finance Committee which confirmed last night's decision regarding fresh taxation and the sinking fund. Discussion centred on the issue whether the Commission would as!: the Government to submit new proposals or the committee itself should draft a scheme. Subsequently MM. Malyy and Lainottreux. Chairman and Reporter of the Pinanee Committee, called on M. Briand and explained that the exact significance of referring back the whole, of the Government's fiscal proposals in no way aimed against M. Briand. M. Loucheur then called on. M. Briand and tendered his resignation. STORMY CABINET MEETING. (Received December 16th, 8.5 p.m.) PA.RIS, December 16. M. Loucheur, in his letter of resignation, declares tho projects agreed by Cabinet must be accepted eventually. They cannot be retarded by questions of personality. Cabinet meets this morning. It appears yesterday morning's meeting was stormy, M. Loucheur insisting that tho whole Ministry was involved since it had endorsed the policy.
GROWING MORE SERIOUS. PARES, December 15. The financial position is growing more serious. M. Loueheur unexpectedly desiring to remain 'in office, Cabinet to-day will probably request his resignation, allowing M. Briand to reshuffle the portfolios. Some quarters are urging M. Caillaux's return. CABINET RETAINS OFFICE. (eeutee's tbkeoeajisO PARIS, December 15. Notwithstanding the Chamber of Finance Commission's rejection of certain of M. Loueheur's financial proposals, tho Cabinet, including M. Loueheur, will romain in office. M. Loueheur will seek a compromiso with the Commission.
