"THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA."
BOOKING ARRANGEMENTS.. Judging by the extraordinary interest evinced in the daylight screening of scenes from "The Phantom of the Opera," at the "Avonia" Depot, 677 Colombo street, it is apparent that the box plans for the six days' season at Everybody's and Greater Crystal Palace Theatres will rapidly fill, and we have no hesitation in advising intending patrons to book their seats now if they want to make certain of witnessing this great production. The innovation of opening the box plans earlier than usual is evidently justified, and the opportunity thus afforded patrons, of obtaining the seats they may desire should certainly appeal to all. Indirectly, a compliment has-been paid to this city, inasmuch as Christchurch has been chosen for the first presentation of "The Phantom of "the Opera" in Australia and New Zealand. Nothing has been left undone by the managements of Everybody's and Greater Crystal Palace Theatres to make this first presentation a memorable one. "The Phantom of the Opera" has aroused worldwide interest because of its colossal magnitude, amazing conception, and remarkable theme. The story is fascinating and intriguing—a wild, weird, fantastic masterpiece of thrilling action. It is replete with incident, it teems with action, it is colourful and magnificent, it charms the eye and engrosses the mind. Summed up in three words, "The Phantom of the Opera" is startling, magnificent, unparalleled. The box plans are now open'at the "Avonia" Depot, 6-77 Colombo street (two doors from Cashel street), where seats may be reserved for both theatres.
