CRICKET.

BOYS' ASSOCIATION.

PAST AND PRESENT. The annual Boys' Association Pist v. Present match took place yesterday at the Technical College ground, Ensor's ro«l, upon a wic&et which, although pood in tho opening stages, did not wear well, and was bumping badly during the afternoon. The was interesting throughout, and resulted in a win for the Preaent team, which consisted of seventeen boys, by •*'- runs ou tho first ir.nings. Their performance- speaks well of the standard of the cricket in the Beys' Association competition, particularly considering the lauge number 01 senior grade players in the Past team. Past lest the toss and were sent to the wickets, opening with L. Cofiev and H. S. Feast. Tho latter was run out, almost immediately, but C. Orchard, who filled tho gap socn got his eye in, and runs camo quickly. Stveral changes were effected, and when the total had reached Si Orchard w»s trapped by Xutt, being stumped. Coffey and b. R. Gordon also batted freely, and another 50 runs were added to the total before the next wicket fell. Jfone of the remaining batsmen nhowed much form, and tho innings clcecd for 169. The performance of B. Welch as wickctkeeper was a good one. He stumped four batsmen and was also instrumental in running two others out. .Detailed scores:
