SUMMER MEETING. TO-DAY'S PROGRAMME. The New Brighton Trotting Clul> will conclude its Summer Meeting to-day. Satisfactory acceptances havo been received for each of the eight events, and an interesting day's racing looks assured. The chief race on the card, the Waijiiairi Handicap, has drawn a field of twelve, well-performed horses, including (wo hisrh-class pacer.s in Onyx ami Acton, and unless those in front of them run up to their handicap, both horses should play a prominent- part in the settlement of affairs. Countryman is nicely placed on 3<jyds, but will reouire to be on liis best behaviour to finish in front of Golden Devon and Prince Lyons. Fifteen, useful trotters are engaged in the New Brighton Trotting Handicap. and although Escapade is conceding 10S yards to those in front of her, she is such a good reliable mare that the task does not look beyond her abilitv. TROTTING NOTES. Nominations for the Wellington T.C.'s Summer Meeting close to-day. Nominations fo r three events at tho Waiau E.C.'s Annual Meeting closo to-day. Acceptances for the Wcstport T.C.'s Midsummer Meeting close to-day at S p.m. Acceptances for the Gore T.C.'s Annual Meeting closo to-morrow. Nominations for tho Canterbury Park T.C.'s Summer Meeting close on Friday at noon. Second forfeits for the Ashburton T.C. 1926 New Zealand Sapling Stakes must he declared not later than o p.m. to-morrow. Morganza R.. who recently joined P. Riddle's stablo, is looking in good fettle, and should not be long in coming to hand. Don Wild has failed to stand a preparation, and has been turned out for a spell. Sheik, Delavan's Quest, and Orion are all doing well, and are likely to assist at Canterbury Park. F. Holmes, jun.. leaves for the 'North on Friday with Talaro and Ben Ohau to assist at the Auckland T.C.'s Summer Meeting. After being on the easy list for a few weeks Snowshoe and Stroller have been recommissioned by P. Riddle, and are being prepared for autumn racing. A. Pringle, who is well known in trotting circles, has been granted a license to ride, drive, and train. Queen's Own injured one of heT knees in the early part of the week, and will not be a starter at New Brighton. .T. Fraser's team has been strengthened by the inclusion of a five-year-old gelding by Kerrwood from Wallacena, dam of First Carbine and Hustler. The Wildwood Junr. trotter Wild Hebe has been purchased by the Addington trainer F. J. Owen. W. J. Tomkinson returned from Dunedin on Monday, and has sufficiently recovered from his recent illness to assume charge of his team.
