ENGLISH PARK, WEDNESDAY. Thrills in plenty are in store for the public on Wednesday night, at English Park Stadium, when the management will stage the rodeo and wild wess show which was eo popular with' the public at the Show Grounds during .Carnival Week. The entertainment ■will be full of variety and will consist of buck-jumping, rough-riding, musical chairs on horseback, pony raring, »nd contests for • muhvbucking,- surcingle- buck jumping, calfriding, and other competitions. Vic. Cowan, the Australian champion, will give an exhibition of riding. "Fun in the Stockyard" will be a leading comedy feature of the entertainment. Ow'ng to the' wet state of the cycling track on Satuiday.night,'the three distance match race' between "Jumbo" Wei's, the noted cyclist, and Cyril Sowden, of ictal fame, did not take place, and the event vaa -postponed until Wednesday. The rtcc is attracting sonsiderable "interest owing to the fact that the winner is to meet Jade Fitt<*erald, the Victorian sprinter, in a match race' on Saturday. Wei's and Sowden »re reported to be at the top of their form, and the spectators should witness a fine rare. Mick Frtsgerald and WiHie Macsio will meet -in a five-mile motor-pace max.-h wee. This is a new departure as far as itio I'onrnibn is concerned. Fitzgerald has come to New Zealand from Australia «ith a-reputa-tion for this class cf racing. Cyril Sowden and' Mick Fitsgerald will meet in a halfmile pursuit' race. The three heats and the final of the *mrd class handicap, not "finished on Saturday ni»ht last; and also.the final of the one mile Beoond-class scratch race, will be decided! next The three-quarter mile open handicap has teen abandoned.
