CHRISTCHURCH DEFENCE CLUB. .Tho first long range competition of the Christchurch Defence Club was fired at Tai Tapu on Saturday afternoon. The conditions were fairly hard .for the marksmen, and a strong south-wester was in evidence at tho second range, which played havoc*with tho scoring. The following were the ecoree: —
