What is believed to be a record schniipper was caught by one of the trawlers. The fish was almost 3ft in length, and weighed 231b lloz. Although one weighing 221b was caught in the Manukau Harbour the two heaviest schuapper caught i;i the Haur'aki Gulf in recent years weighed 181b and 161b.
