LONDON, November 20v Alexander Grant, claimant to Earldom of Seaiield, contended that ho personally resembled Viscount Reidhaven's features, and also "resembled him in gait and mannerisms. He himself and his four daughters possessed noticeable : characteristics of the Blantyre family, to which his mother belonged, including the. tendency of the hair to darken from the original auburn after middle age. The Judge ruled out the evidence, in accordance with the Scottish Court's custom of disregarding physical resemblances. [The, title of the 19-year-oJd Countess of Seafield, a peeress in her own was challenged at the Court ot Session at Edinburgh by Alexander Grant, retired tutor, aged "70. He declared that he is the son of the seventh Earl of. Sea-r field, whereas the Countess is only the 'child of the eleventh Earl. Mr Grant alleged that the seventh Earl, when Viscount Reidhaven, in 1840, married, bv verbal contract aboard a sailing vessel Caroline Stuart, the youngest j daughter of the eleventh Lord Blantyre. ] The marriage was later celebrated in j London.] * ]
