THE EXHIBITION.

FIRST WET DAY. ATTENDANCES LARGE AS EVER. (PMS3 ASSOCIATION TZIOMfcAM.) DTJNEDIN, November 221 Continuous drizzling rain fell on Saturday, and made the Exhibition grounds, roads, and paths wet and muddy. The attendance of the public was, however, remarkably good, and 21,023 people passed through the turnstiles. The attendance total for the week has been calculated at 114,411 persons, excluding the hundreds who entered on Tuesday and Wednesday without being cheeked by the "machines. Oil Saturday the concert programmes were postponed on account of the death Of Queen Alexandra, and the Band of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders did not play. Special numbers will be included in to-morrow's programmes, notably the Scottish lament, "Flowers of the* Forest..'' Flags were flown at half-mast, but during the day the ordinary sessions were continued as usual, and the rain seemed to have very little effect on the public patronage of tht popular Amusements Park. Six thousand journeyed on the scenic railway du' k ing the day. The Canadian court is now complete, and the Australian pavilion will be completed on Wednesday. All commissioners and exhibitors are expressing the keenest satisfaction with the result of the first w>ek.
