ENGLISH PARK SPORTS.

.6 ■ • RUNNING , CYCLING, AND WHIPPET RACING. Although the weather on Saturday evening was most uninviting, the sports at the English Park Stadium attracted a large attendance of cycling enthusiasts. The programme was one of the best staged by the syndicate. The feature of the evening was the cyciing match between Mick Fitzgerald (Australia) and Cyril Sowden (New Zealand). This was won by the New Zealander. The whippet racing was as popular as ever, and with thirty-five yards handicap, D. McLennan, the crack sprinter, beat two whippets fairly comfortably. Derry's Band played a wellselected programme of music during the intervals. Results:— Second and Third-class Combined feandij cap (half-mile) —First heat: D. Mitchell (40yds) 1, F.
