MATAKANA SAILS.

t A VOLUNTEER CREW. (PBESS ASSOCIATION TZLZG-SJLX.) AUCKLAND, November 20. - The Matakana, maaned by a volunteer crew, mostly Maoris, left for Wellington last evening to complete loading for London. On the wharf were a number of former members of tho crew, who went on strike, but beyond a few remarks showing their displeasure, there was no demonstration. When the ship had drawn several feet away from the wharf, a Maori pushed his way through the crowd and scrambled up a rope hanging over tie side. He was followed a couple of minutes later by a European, who rushed on to the wharf and made a hazardous leap. He managed to grab a rope and. was'hauled on board.'
