HIGH PRAISE

FOR IMPERIAL COURT, j DUNEDIN EXHIBITION. "One of the most striking exhibits that -New Zealanders will ever have the opportunity of seeing, 1 ' was the description of the Imperial Court tit the Dunedin Exhibition, given by the Prime Minister. tho Hon. J. G. Coates, to a reporter last night. ! He continued: "It lias been tastefully laid out in a. wonderful setting, and the general effect is historic rather ihan industrial. It convevs vividly the history of the raco and it covers the W3rs on the sea and the land as well as the commercial and industrial developments. '•Hie sight of it makes one's blood run faster, for here is demonstrated the history of our race. If it were practicable it would be desirable foi alt. children of an age to understand, to have an opportunity of seeing the exhibit.. Every prai.se and commendation is due to the gentlemen who are responsible for giving New Zealanders an opportunity of seeing such a fine rle&onstration. This exhibit is a fitting beginning; one may follow! on to the rest of the exhibits afterwards." The Canadian, Commonwealth, and Fiji Courts were splendid exhibits, Mr Coates said, and lie had been gratified to thank the men in charge for their work, and their Governments for their contributions. The three district or provincial courts already completed were excellent, those responsible having brought out the different characteristics of .the provinces in a very creditable way. The few industrial displays which he had had time to sec, had spoken for themselves. A visit to the Exhibition would repay everybody who made it. Tho directors had worked hard and had faithfully carried out tlicir enormous project. He hoped thnt the Exhibition would be a great national success and that it would be an inducement to others to come this way.

GRAVE AND GAY. VISITORS TO BIG SHOW. (FRES3 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, November 20. Dunedin people are now settling down to take the Exhibition in earnest, but holiday crowds of visitors continue to throng the courts, especially in the evening, when attractions of all kinds are enhanced by the illuminations. ' The first'three days carried the aggregate attendance past the hundred thousand mark, and to-day's . tally should maintain the average. "With the advent of the Christmas holiday season, the Exhibition will undoubtedly prove the star attraction for all able to move afield, and there, are other holiday, terms to follow before the big show closes its gates. It is noticeable that the large crowds in the pavilions linger longest over displays of educational value, depicting scenic wonders, and a hundred and one phases of man's activities, from lonely outpost lands to highly specialised branches of industrial and scientific operations. Sohoolboys and .greybeards may now be seen, cheek by jowl intent' upon the study of the latest farm methods,-or on the evolution of 'the gorgeousy appointed limousine from CBe comfortless, . unreliable . monstrosity (as seen through 1925. eyes) of the earliest horseless carriage of little less than a quarter of a century ago. Thesa | are. just two, instances easy. to quote, but the ; same keen interest is visible everywhere thai industry or enterprise is presented pictorially, graphically, or in faosimilie. . Then,, fis the .hour of 10. approaches, these sober students wend their, way homeward," pondering the. marvels brought to their doors. Meantime lighter-hearted visitors have' been revelling in the amusement) .zone, but the t time comes,., when even Momus must retire' to the wings for a space, and hie worshippers depart tfith a resolve to pay court to him at a .later date. EXHIBIT FROM WEMBLEY. (BT CABLS—PKSSS ASSOCIATION—COPIEIQHT.) (AUSTRALIA* AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.; (Received November 20th, 10.45 p.m.) LONDON, November 19.
