President Coolldge, in an address at tho annual dinner of the N«fr York State Chamber of Commerce;, pleaded for a mora Sympathetic understanding between business and tho Government, lie was of the opinion that tho overwhelm ing prosperity of tho United Btates was due* to tho practical independencd and mutual helpfulness of the Government and business. The President described how the critical post-war period had bcert tided over by the" extension of Atneridan credits, not only to Europe, but also to Latin Atnerlen, Australia, and Jap4n. He characterised the terms thus far granted to debtor nations socking to settle war debts as very generous, but considered that they wOUld prove mutually beneficial to all concerned.
