BURGESSES' ASSOCIATION.
At a meeting of the North Linwood residents, Mr G. T. Baker presiding, Cr. E. H. Andrews addressed the meeting on the aims and objects of a Burgesses' Association, for which he was thanked. Mr Clark, secretary of the Avonside Burgesses' - Association, also said a. few words in favour of forming an association. Those present formed art association to be called the North Linwood Burgesses' Association; The following officers were elected:—Patron, the Mayor of Christchurch; president; Mr G. G. Baker; vice-president, Messr3 Archbold, Diehl, and Collins; secretary-treasurer, 'Mr H. W. Beck; committee, Messrs D. M. Burgess W. Strain, M. L. Cox, W. Wallace, ,W\ Martin, G. Cook, and M. L. Clark. The Association will meet every second Thursday in the month.
