Tho Ashburtou Comity, from tho Raiigitala to the Rakaia, cud front the hills to the sea, was agreed upon as the boundaries for the Ashburtou branch. Mr Page said it had bism suggested that Ashburtou was trying to break away from • the - C.A.A., but that was not so. Mr Nicholson said th.y would cither have'to form a separate branch of the C.A.A.. or become"'a siib-comiaitteo of the Cenera! Committee. It wa.s agrcwl that Ashburton shou.d remain a sab-commit l<*? fey the presentyear with a' representative, who would have no voting' power 1 , on tho Co unci.. The acquisition of a room in Asnbuvton for. Ihe ci.mvenier,cc of members was next deilt uttii, and <jii the advice of Mr Nicholson it wt.s agreed to go into the f|uestiou of cusi of furnishing and rente! of ,a room for about six months' with the option of a lease tor a term of five years. Something in that direction would-probably be done very shortly. . In answer- to questions, Air -MetitUsou said no alteration was likely with regard.to number ulafccs and the taxation oi motorists. The authorities appeared satisfied, and the present conditions would exiijt for r-.t least two years. Ho felt-sure tlr.-.t the Comic.i would nass a sum for secret a rial work in Ashburton.
