TUNNEL TRAGEDY.

GREEN RELIEF FUND. The fund for Mrs Green, whose husband was killed m the fall of earth in the No. 2 tunnel at Lake Coleridge on October 2nd, and her children, in the organising of which the Canterbury Progress League is assisting, has been augmented' by the receipt of £IOO subscribed by Mr J. Beban and the members of the co-operative tunnel contract party. A sympathiser, who expressed the desire to be anonypious, has forwarded a. cheque for £10; and the Hyman Marks Trust has contributed a similar sum. The subscription from the co-operative party, the members of which had already contributed individually shows the existence of a most liberal spirit among the late Mr Green's fellow-workers. Subscriptions may be sent either to the Town Clerk, or to the organiser for the Progress League, Mr Climie.
