INCREASED GRANT. (roou ou& owx. coi*xsrosDisT.) LONDON", October 7. The ralue of the Rhodes Scholarships, tenable for three years at Oxford University, under the terms of the will oi Mr Cecil Rhodes, has been increased from £350 to £4 CO a year. This is the second increase in. the value of the scholarships, and is due to a recognition by the, trustees of the increased cost oi living at Oxford. The University terms, only occupy about sis months each year, and the men hare, to meet heavy vacation, expenses during the remaining time unless, they are able to 'get employment, as many other undergraduates do. Thp trustees, however, recognise that ,they would be better occupied in improving their knowledge of European conditions by travel. ,
