The evidence ot" Rnbina Martin - (Hndir.. a married womar.. sister of the respondent, was that, her sister wr.s a happy girl before her marriare. Alter her hbn«yrnoo2 she was disappointed to find that her sister was'not so happy z<, she was when she went away. His Honour said that the case was.r. pa'.n I'll and diScuit one to determine. . In the absenco of ar.y corroborativo evidence .no was far from satisfied that any of the act* of violence bad ever been committed, by the petitioner. Those incidents -were, either imagined or invented by-the respondent. He could not rely upon the respondent's test-i----monv in that matter. All through he was forced to come to the conclusion that, the respondent's testimony could not lie' relied upon. The marriajre was an unhappy one. and it was a jreat misfortune that the parties ever married. There was between them an absence of that sympathy and affection railed love, wiihout- which marriace was a mockery and' delusion. There were fault* on both sides. The petitioner was perhaps of a hard, unsympathetic, natnre, but be was not guilty of cruelty in the major sense. He accepted the petitioner's story, and therefore he found that tho respondent bad deserted the petitioner without reasonable cause. A decree nisi was granted, to-be made absolute in three months. CosU were allowed on the highest scale. , MAGISTERIAL. SATURDAY. , (Before Mr H. Y. V.'iddowson, S.H.) JUVENILE OFFENDERS'. A. lad 15 vears 11 months, old.- pleaded eti'ilty to the theft of soveral articles valued at *l7 13s, the property of a Burwood resident He also admitted having stolen three fowls valued at 7a 6d, belonging to the same hearing the evidence, his'• ."Worship admitted tho boy to probation for three years "What he needs is guidance and caretul handling," bo said. . . > . -u Three lads, who admitted having ridden bicvcles at night without lights, were each ordered to P3y 7a costs.
