FANCY DRESS BALL.
The Sumner Town Hall echoed with the laughter and merriment of numbers of children on Friday night when Miss Selby and Mr F. Reado Wauchop held tho;r annual fancy dress ball to celebrate the breaking up of this season's dancing class. The many varied costumes displayed much originality and forethought, and a. jolly time Mas spent dancing till 1!> p.m. During the evening several fancy dances wore cleverly nerformed by the pupils of the dancing "class, the dresses in ecch being suitable to the typo of dance. The programme included:—Arm exercises (ciass), The Boils' One Stou (class}, "Hrnnouneskc," Misses Ariti Andrews and Marjorie Chambers. For this charmincr little dance one simple frock was of soft cream lac<> outlined with pini Tosebuds, and tha other a pale pihk iace frock trimmed with rosehufis. "The Irish Washerwoman's Jicr,*' Misses Elaine i-'ryor. Dora Neville, JeaneUe Kingr, Molly Dawson, Npraire Opicr, Beryl Crough. The eo:ouriul Irish frocks were won in v this dance. "Hungarian Dunce," Misses Joyce Dean, Xoelinc Bishop. Kuth Collins, Ariti Andrews, Marjorie Andrews, Natalie Hampton, Joy Bow. Buff tunic 3 with red j facings and ineo breeches, and red hats were the costumes for this dance. "Gavot'.e," Misses Joy Bow, Alison Gcugi, Koeline. Bishop, Marjorie Chambers. Ariti Andrews, Natalie Hampton. Old Knglish costumes were won in thi3 dance. Miss Hder (a pupil of Mr i\ Reado Wauchop) did a<oc dance very daintily, and Miss Esme Lindsay a solo dance.
