LECTURE ON "ROME."

On Wednesday evening,, in the Catholic Club Rooms, High slreet, the Rev. Father Cooney gave an illustrated lecture on "Rome," before a most attentive audience. By mean's of many slides the lecturer took his audience to all the most interesting spots in the historic city, and, having spent many vcars in Rome himself, the Rev. Father was able to make the subject one of deep interest to all. At the close of the lecture, the president of the club. Mr J. K. Moloney, thanked. Father Cooney for his able address, and asked him to repeat the lecture at some future date. Mr Moloney also thanked Messrs Morrison and L. Hayward, who had operated the lantern and slides. Mr P. J. Amodeo, vice-president, also thanked Father Cocmey, and complimented him on the very interesting and bright lecture provided for clubmembers and friends. In reply, Father Cooney thanked his audience for an attentive hearing, and promised to repeat the lecture at an early date.
