Sir Geoffrey Archer states that the great Sudan cotton irrigation -scheme is not yet.fait accompli, but the. dam has been completed, and aready 80,000 acres are under cotton. The completion of the scheme will result in -3,000,000 acres being available for cotton-growing under the triennial system. This will mean.a crop of 1,000,000 acres yearly.
