CYCLING.
AMATEUR CLUB. A meeting of the Christchureh Amateur Cycling Club was held on Monday. Present: Messrs C. 11. Taylor (chairman), E. Blanchard (secretary), Forrester, Miller, Blake-way, Hill, Poore, N. Gray, , and F. Harper. Mr Loekwood (secretary of the Canterbury Centre of the N.Z.A.A.A.) was present wi« regard to the appointment of officials at the ground for the finish of"the fifty mile championship. Suitable officials were .selected, with Mr C. S. McCulkv as superintendent. • Mr Popre reported@? that all arrangements had been made for the five a-side motorcycle football match. A vote of thanks was accorded the Halswell Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club for its help with .the race on Saturday last. The fastest time prize was a cup given by an enthuiast in Halswell, and his action was commented upon appreciatively. All arrangements for the fifty mile lace have been completed. / METHVEN CLUB. The annual meeting of the Club was held on Tuesday evening, Mr O. Topp presiding. , The report showed that the club had had a prosperous year. From a financial standpoint the year had not been quite so successful, but all liabilities had been met and there was a sum to come from a number of euchre tournaments held during the winter months in conjunction with the Ladies' Hockey Club. Wilson; hon/judges, Messrs C. Topp, C. J. Crookes, J. T. Goodtyin- . , ' The subscription was left at 5s fpr seniors anrU2s 6d for juniors:-under 16. It was decided to hold the first Tace of the new season on October 24th, the course to be five times round Mangin's small block.
