The City Council decided last -night to take a poll on tho question of raising a loan to erect a new Art Gallery. march to Gaol. Tho Arawa's seameh who were sentenced at Wellington a few days ago to six weeks' imprisonment for refusing duty, saved the poiice the task of serving warrants by marching to gaol in a body yesterday. At Auckland, the Bececia's deckhands were imprisoned for a month for declining duty. Torrential Rain. Yesterday's downpour caused considerable flooding in various parts of the city. Union circles in Sydney believe that the shipping strike will be settled within the next two or three days. Moroccan War. The French command in Moroceo reports successes on all fronts. League Assembly. Many delegates of the League of Nations Assembly referred to the need for an understanding embodying the principles of the proposed Protocol, Mount Morgan Fire. The fire at Mount Morgan mine is under control. Many of the striking miners worked heroically to suppress the outbreak.
