REGULATING BUTTER SHIPMENTS. Tho shipping strike is causing somecoteern (writes our Taranaki correspondent). It is feared tiat if it lasts over the 20th there may bo some difficulty in getting finance owing to the usual advances from the merchants not being available. It is generally admitted, however, that so far the strike may have bnd a beneficial effect in so much as the non-arrival of early shipments at Home will give an opportunity to'clear the accumulated stocks there, and the boats will arrive on a clear market. Moreover, loading is continuing, and the boats will leave the ports at which .they are now held up with tho bulk of the new produce up to the time they do get away.
