EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The annual meeting of the East Christchurch Cricket Club was held last night, Mr R. B. Ward being in the chair. The annual report stated that tho club had been successful in various grades, and the record was better than it had been for several seasons. The First Grade A team was ruhner-uii in tho competition, B. Gregory I getting the best batting average and P-. j Egan the best howling average. The .First Grade B team started off well, but toivards the end of the season lost form and finished'' fonrtX in the competition. Tho Second Grade B team won its competition, the Third Grade B team finished second, and tho Fourth Grade B team tied for first place. R. Gregory represented Canterbury in the match against Victoria. In the Petersen Shield competition the club finished fourth. The financial statement showed that the receipts for the year wore £lls lis, and the expenditure £96 10s 2d, leaving a credit balance of £l9 0s ITO.

Puller presided over a wellattended meeting of members of the Merivale Rugby Football Club on Thursday evening, at their club rooms, Oxford terrace. The object of the meeting was to form a Cricket Club. ' After a short discussion it was decided to form a club, to be known as the Merivale Cricket Club, and to play friendly matches this season. . , The offer of a bag for material was accepted with thanks from Mr Jennings.
