It was expected to despatch her yesterday, but there is a shortage in tne stokehold crew. It was found necessary, too, to carry out alterations to the temporary accommodation built for the patients, as it was not roomy enough. Dr. T. P. Telford, Medical Officer for Health for Canterbury, visited tho ship yesterday to arrange for tho necessary work to be done. The patients will bo accompanied by Matron Price,' Assistant Matron Nash, and Sir A. Knowles, attendant of tho Quail Island staff. Four other passengers have also booked berths. The patients will be accommodated on tho after-end of the ship, and the other passengers in the saloon. It is expected that the Department of Health will maintain the buildings of the leper station at Quail Island intact for the accommodation of future cases ponding their transfer to Makogai.
