ELLESMERE GUN CLUB.
£SO SPARROW HANDICAP. On Saturday the Ellesmere Qua Club held .1 £SO Sparrow Handicap on the Christchurch Gun Club's Grounds at Sockburo. The weather was fine, but a stiff wind made the shooting very difficult. Amongst the competitors were A. Dobson, of Auckland, and E. Groomc, of Hawke's Bay, both ejNew Zealand sparrow champions, and tho Canterbury clubs were well represented. The conditions were 15 sparrows from handicap distances, under N.Z.G.O.A. conditions. Twenty-one started, and at the end of the fifteenth round C. Jamieson headed the list with fourteen kills, E. Hammond secured second place with 12, while the third prize money was divided by A. Stretz and O. Evans, each scoring 11. The scores of tbe prize winners were:— Tl. C. Jamieson (20yds), 212021221211121 14 E. Hammond (22yds), 121110210111110 12 A. Frampton, who accounted for all his birds. The second and third prize money was divided by E. Hammond, R. Mcllwrick, V. Truscott, and A. N. Turner. Tho scores o£ the prize-winners were:'— F.
