NORTH BEACH SCHOOL.
Tito Xorth Beach School Committee met in tho school, when theio weio present: Messrs E. A. M. Leaver (in tho chair), E. Bush (secretary), S. Freeborn, A. Florancc, A. Js'oonan, Rev. W. F. Knowles, Mrs Goring, and tho headmaster (Mr J. F. Wilson). Correspondence was received from tho Education Board offering to subsidise the d 25 raised by tho committee for r.sphaltinß round the school. Tho chairman reported that tho material for fcncirs? the playground haW been supplied by tho lioartl and was on 'tho ground. It was, decided to have the .Work done as soon 'os possible. It was a'so decided to accept tho tender of Smart and Son for tho asphalting required. A long discussion took placo as to tho advisability or otherwise of letting the Gchool for social functions as had been done in tho past. It was decided to disoontinue tho practice.. Appreciative reference was made. to the recent working bee, and it was decided to hold another. The headmaster's report showed tho ro!l number to be 210 with an attendance of 80 per cent.
