CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB.

TO-DAY'S PROGRAMME. The Canterbury Jockey Club's Grand National Meeting will be advanced another stage to-day. "With tho exception of the Hunt Club Cup and the Sproydon Hurdle Handicap, the fields for the day are excellent and the racing should be of a high standard. The withdrawal of Many Colours and Bonecto from the Grand National Hurdles leaves seventeen still in, but one or two others may drop out before tho horses are paraded. It is a really good class field" aver which simulation will take a very wide range. It is difficult to say what will be favourite, but Xukumai, after winning the Jumpers' Flat so handily on Tuesday, will run most of the fancied divisions n-erv close. The ten paid up for m the Beaufort Steeplechase should provide as tine a race as that for the Grand National Steeplechase while in the \uKUst Handicap, which includes a "neat number of Winter Cup horses, a £reat race can be looked lor. Inere are von' useful fields engaged m the remaining races, and the weather on y needs to hold good to ensure a highly interesting and pleasant day's sport.
