"DOWN TO THE SEA IN SHIPS"
Few motion pictures that have found their way to successful completion have been attempted on the Bcrtlo that "Down to the Sea in Ships" has been produced. In the handling of tho story, the scenario of which was written by John L. E. Pell, of Great Barrington, Mass., Sir Clifton has revealed an ingenuity that departs sharply from tho traditional uso of motion picture material. He has never lost sight of the first requirements of a screen production, that it shall be above all things entertaining an* the thread of the lovo story that begins under tho ancient yardaim in New Bedford harbour is never for an instant broken even in the tempestuous waters of the mid-Atlantic. Only onco in a century does a thrilling; episode as dramatically depicted in this picture, happen. Conceive if vou can, SOOO miles of fathomless water, sce'thin<* with man-eating sharks; conceive, a. small wbaloboa-t manned by six hardy whalers utterly beyond the rcacu of the mother ship, and tearing at express speed. Imagine yourself being loved by an enraged leviathan of tho deep, who sets off in I dash for freedom. Suddenly tho whale realising tho futility of escape, turns and charges 0 tho boat with the speed and force It tho fastest express. In a second hit square in the middle, tno whaleW ,s mashed to bits, tossing the crew into the Kmfestea waters. There is «mp e,*P--oeal in this picture; it. tell* a sweet iove story, «>d there is a qnant Quaker weddmg fvifl all its quaint customs and tho prettiest 0 allTcreVbridcs. ."Down to tho Sea « Shins" will bo «l«own for one week only at 1 ibert* Theatre, commencing on Saturday S 15th, so that picture patrons should rofml* tb« opportunity of seeing a class of film i!» W* of which maT KCVer again. _______
