COURT STAR OF CANTERBURY.
—-—»-- —■ The fortnightly meeting of the Court Star of Canterbury, Ko. 'J3O9, A.0.F., was held in the Foresters' Hall, Oxford terrace, on Monday. . There was a. 'aige attendance, of members present, and Chief Ranger Bro. C- A. Eldridge presided ovor the meeting. The action of the committee in granting tlie use cf the court bannerettes to Court Queen of the Isles, Lyttelton, for its annual social and dance on Ju'.y '22 nd, was. approved. It was decided t:> invite the Anchor •Lodge, of the U.A.O.D. order to a friendly card match and social at an early date in August, and Bros. J. Sewio:i, W. Bowman ar '°- W. A. Weakley were appointed a committee to arrange details connected with the social. It was also decided to arrange a series of friendly card mat dies with various other courts during the coming months, and a social committee°was eiected, consisting oi £r°s. "\\\ A. "Weaklev, J. -W.vtSn, C. W. F. u i?gott, W. Bowman, i\ J.. "Weakley, and the Chief Ranger, to arrange the details in connexion with the socials. A report, of the Jast meeting of the U.S.F. Benevolent Association was given by Bro. A..E. Lane'. The report was received, and a vote of thanks Passed to the 'delegate for his report. Two n ew members were initiated into the order ""ring the evening by. the C.E., assisted by ro -. F. J. Weakley, P.C.E., and the newlyelected members were accorded the honours P- the order and the Foresters' "fire." Two new candidates were also proposed for initiation.' 'After the Court business was concluded, the Court adjourned for harmony, .and refreshments were provided.
