ANGLICAN SYNOD.
ELECTION OF BISHOP. ; To>day the Anglican meet to consider anew the question of the appointment of- a Bishop for the Diocese. On- June Sth Synod commenced a special meeting to appoint a suitable man, and, as a result of its deliberations, the Rev. Clifford Salisbury .Woodward', M.A., Vicar of-St. Peter's, Cranley Gardens London, was aaked to accept the office. Mr Woodward, however, was'unable to consider;the invitation, and to-day Synod will commence its second' session to choose another mart for the position. < The sittings will be held in St; j John's Hall as before, but, as it is an adjourned meeting of the Synod, there will not be any special*services such as were held last month. Synod iWiU attend early Communion, at the Cathedral and assemble at St. John's at lu o'clock for a half-hour of quiet in the church. ' :'. In connexion with the actual business itself, there will be no .need for the preliminary formal business which had to be gone through before the -last special session began, and it is anticipated that Synod will go into private session almost immediately.
