CYCLING.
TIMARTJ TO CHRISTCHURCH ROAD RACE. The executive of the HortJt Canterbury Centre of the N.Z. Athletic and Cycling TJnion has decided to hold the Timaru to. Christchurcb road race on Saturday, Sep. tember 19th. A sub-committee has. been engaged collecting towards the expenses, and so far has met with a very good response over £IOO in cash and trophies having been promised. * In order to add interest to the race, the secretary was instructed to write to all affiliated centres in New Zea'and, urging them to hold test races, no as to select a representative to compete in the big race. The prize list will he sim'lar to 'hat of previous races, but it is possible that several club and district prizes will ba added. It is also in'ended to eater for riders on the front marks.
