■ 1 CANTERBURY ROWING .ASSOCIATION. The Canterbury Rowing Association Spet last night, Mr F. D. Kesteven presiding. The Xew Zealand Association wrote stating that tlio proposals submitted by it to the Inter-State Conference bad been turned down on account of finanoe. The principle that contests between the two countries were desirable was a.ffi.rm«d, and sent on to the Australian Hewing Council, which body had asked if Xow Zealand was prepared to send another crew to Australia. . Tbo Xew Zea.land Council had replied tint a crew might be sent in 1927 or 1928. In the meantime the meeting- of dolcgates would be asked to confirm an invitation to tbo ■ New South Wale 3 Association to send a crew to- Xew Zealand in February, 1925. It was suggested that an art -union should be held to raise funds. G. 11. Hobbs said he thought an art union w.as the only way of raising the money required, /as the levies had been turned down. It .was decided to inform the Kew Zealand Association that the Canterbury Association would do all in its power to male the Xew South Welshmen's visit a. success.
