A GERMAN CRIME.
DRAMATIC SCENES AT TRIAL. (by cable—press association— coptbight.) (a.ostbaxjax isd n.z. cable association.) (Received July 7th, 5.5 p.m.) BERLIN, July 7. Dramatic scenes marked the opening of the trial of Angerstein. charged with murdering eight persons, his wife, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, maid servant, two gardeners and two clerks. Angerstein calmly described how he stabbed somo of tho victims, and chased and killed others with a chopper. He admitted ha had lived happily with his wife. Counsel read a letter written by the wife befoio her death, in which she wrote: -'Make a grave for me in some quiet spot with a place for you beside me, and when I am gone, love her still who was true to you till death." There was scarcely a dry eyo in court after the letter had teen read, but Angerstein listened unmoved.
