IRISH GENERAL IN NEW YORK. POLICE RESERVES QUELL FIGHT (bt cable—press association—copyright.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE 'ASSOCIATION.) (Received June 2nd, 10.45 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 2. Two hundred military police and detectives were unable to prevent an outbreak when General Owen o'Duffy, chief commissioner of the Irish Free State Civic Guards at Dublin, was a,bout to review the 165 th Infantry Regiment. The disturbance was ultimately quelled after twenty women had been ejected from the Armoury. Eggs were hurled at the Irish general and he was greeted with a, tempestuous chorus, cat calls, and cries of "Traitor." *Hb stood his ground and met the barrage of eggs by grinning up at the balcony, from which the missiles came. Soon quiet was restore J and he reviewed the regiment. Following tnese proceedings a free-for-all fight started, with the general in the middle. Police reserves had to be called out to disperse the crowd and rescue Geneial O'Duffy. /
