SHIPPING NOTES. The rain yesterday prevented any work being doce on the waterfront, except in the case of tho Kauri, working at the grab, and the ferry steamer. As to-day is a holiday the vessels in port will have suffered two days' deliy. Tho Kennedy is expected to load for 1 oxton to-morrow. Tho Progress i 3 to sail to-morrow ior ■Wellington, Wanganui and Xew Plymouth. The. Ripa, is duo to-morrow from Wanganui with cattle, and is to sail in the afternoon ior Dunedin nr.d Oarnaru. The Wootton is to load to-morrow for Wellington direct. The Kamona should be here to-morrow from Wc3tport with coal. She will complete discharge at Dunedin. The Coolann. according to a radio message received yesterday, expects to .-vrrivc in the the stream at midnight to-night. She brings a full load of coal from Newcastle and is to commence discharge to-morrow morning. The Gale should bo here early to-morrow morning from Weatport with coal for the hulk Eaupo. The Port Campbell is to leave Lyttclton to-morrow for Picton and Wellington to complete loading; for Home. The Xew Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Tckoa, en route, from London to Auckland. Wellington, Lyttclton, and Xew Plymouth, arrived at Colon on Mny 28th, and sailed a?ain tho same day. The A. and A. Line steamer Papanui arrived at Wellington on Monday morning from Auckland to continue discharge, of Xew York cargo. She proceeds to Lyttclton, Timaru. Dunedin, and Australia to complete discharge. The Corinthie, leading at Pert Chalmers, is due at Wellington to-morrow to complete. She sails at daybreak on June 11th for Southampton ard" London, via Panama. Mr D. iS. Kent has joined ;he Breeze as chief engineer in succession to Mr W. Graham. Mr W. S. Fisfc has replaced Mr A. A. Dixon as second male on the Susses. Mr A. -Williamson is now second engineer of the Jsgakuta, vice Mr D. McMurran, who has come ashore, sick. The Government steamer Tutanekai is to leave Wellington to-morrow morning for Cook Strait lights. After completion of work in Cook Strait the vessel is to proceed about the beginning of tho third week of this month on an inspection trip of southern lighthouses. A Tadio message received by the C. and D. Lino stated thit the Port Melbourne, en route from London would arrive at Suva, yesterday evening and at Auckland on Monday next.- She has cargo also for Lyttelton and Xew Plymouth. *
The Pakeha, in ballast from Home, arrived at Auckland on Saturday evening. She- was to have left Auckland yesterday for loading at Opua, Hick's Bay, Tokoinaru Bay, Wanganui, Timaru, and Wellington. The Pakeha. will sail from Wellington* on June 25th for London, via: Monte Video and i Teneriffe. The C. and D. Lire steamer' Port Victor arrived at Dunedin on Sunday morning from Lyttelton to complete discharge and to commence loading for Home. She is to. leave Dunedin to-morrow to take in further cargo at Bluff, Lyttelton, Wellington,-Napier Waikokoini, Gisbonic and Auckland.

TO TRANSHIP LYTTELTON CARGO.
Owing to having been prevented from working. yesterday by .the rain, tho Union Company's chartered steamer Sussex was dispatched last evening for Duncdiu, to complete discharge of her Eastern cargo. The remaining portion of the cargo for Lyttelton will be transhipped from Dunedin.
