The official opening ceremony was carried out bv the Governor of the Colonv, Sir Graeme Thompson, who subsequently flew over Georgetown and the surrounding district . The plane is the first in the country, and in view of its success and the exist'ino- difficulties' of transport, it is confidently expected that .great developments "will result from this pioneer woik. .
