DOMAINS BOARD.
ANNUAL MEETING. The arnual mooting of the Chri6tchurch Domains Board was bold yesterday afternoon in the Municipal Chambers, Mr George Harper presiding. Others present were: Messrs C. R- Hcrvcy, H. Eaglesome, McGre?or Wright, S. Orchard. W. H. Wiasor, H. T. Armstrong, !M.P., T. Scott, A. D. Ford, H. J. Beswiclt, A. W. Owles, Professor C. Chflton, F. W. Hijson (secretary) and J. Your.g (curator). Mr G. Harper was re-elected chairman of the Board. The financial statement for the month showed a debit balance of £lB3 19s sd. The balance-sheet showed assois totalling £19,060* Ss lid and liabilities £13.9C0 7s, leaving a balance ~f £5105 Is lid. The secretary leported that the Board had written to the Minister of Lands tHcn. A. D. McLcod) stating that it had been discovered that a . quinquennial appointment of members of the Board by the Governor-General and contributory local bodies ou<rht to have been made in April, lg<>4 Under the Christchurch Domains Amendment Act. 1923. the appointment of members bv the Governor-General and City Council and other contributory local "bodies to be mado in April of every fifth vear. The first of such appointments wns mrde in April. 1914, and the_ second in April, 1919, and that. t>eriod expired in April 1924. It was provided bv the .Act that even- person so appointed, unless he resigned, died, or vacited his seat during t*e »-eri:d, waa to hold office until the appointment of his successor.
