HIGHLAND PIPE BAND.
The Christchurch Highland Pipe Band held a successful dance on Friday night in the Islington Hall. The hall was filled to its utmost capacity. Smith's Marimba Band supplied the music, and Mr Jack Aitken, of Christchurch, officiated as M.C. Messrs Basil Christiansen, of Riccarton, and W. Slanilas, of Yaldhurst, played extras. During tho evening Miss Cathie Walton, of Spreydon, gave an'exhibition of Scotch dancing. Miss Jean Webb, of Islington, sang songs, which were appreciated by all. Bandsmen present were:—McMillan, A. McTansh, P. McTansh, L. Clarke, A. Forsyth, D. Harland, D. Irvine, J. Walton, J. Aitken, R. Tait. Amongst the many present were:—Mre Aitken, Mrs A. Walton, N. Geskell, M. Fuller E. Rosscr, 0. Rosser, A. Roaser, V. Gilbert, Eelcio Muir, A. McOaller, Lucy Garrett, Louie Hepburn, A. Clark, D..Budge, Miss Bovlc.
