AFTER EATING ONIONS. Spring Onions are wholesome, but are avoided by many on account of the unpleasant after-effects. The use of Fluenzol as a mouthwash, however, is cleansing and cooling, and purifies the breath. A teaspoonful of Mnenzol should be retained in the mouth for half a minute or so, and worked round the uXus and palate. E4382-4
Coffee was onco regarded as a cureaJl. The first advertisement of the beveiage was published in the "Pudh'ck Advertiser," of May 19th, 3657, and announced 'that the proprietor of a shop in Bartholomew lane, London, was stocking "a. very wholesome and physical drink'" called coffee, the virtues of which included helping the digestion, quickening the spirits, lightening the heart, and proving "excellent good against eyesores, coughs, colds, headaches, gout, dropsy, scurry, king's and a long string of other ailments.
