TOURING SCHOOL FOR FARMERS.
CANTERBURY AND NORTH OTAGO TO BE VISITED.
One of the results of the closing of the schools during the infantile paralysis epidemic is that the Department of Agriculture will be unable to hold the projected "Winter school for farmers at Eangiora, as members of the teaching staffs will not be free to attend and givo lectures, the school vacation not taking place, probably, till about the end of August. In place of a Fanners' School at one centre, the Department has decided upon a touring school, onthe lines that have proved successful in America A motor-car will be equipped with a \»taff of lecturers, chiefly departmental officers, and the necessary lantern apparatus. The touring school will visit several of the more important rural centres for a short course which will occupy two days in each centre visited. It is proposed to include in the touring school's itinerary Oxford. IVMhvcn, Leeston. Pleasant Point. Waimate, and Oamaiu. ,
