LEAGUE. . WEST COAST FIXTURES. (SMtCIAL TO "188 PMSB.") GBEYMOTJTH. April 27. Tho following are the fixtures for next week-end (all matches with the exception of the BlackbauXßiuianga senior game being played on Sunday) :—Blackball v. Bunanga, at Gicyniouth Becreatibn Ground, Saturday; Inangahua v. Marista, at Omoto; Grey v. Boa, at Blackball. Junior—lnangahua v. Nelson Creek, at Mawheraiti; Grey v. Rovers, at Dunollie; Mariflts v. Blackball, at Blackball; Brunner v. Bunanga. at Dunollie.

Third Grade—Grey v. Marists, at Omoto; Borers v. Blackball, at Eapahoc.

ASSOCIATION. CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. A meeting of tho Executive Committee of tho Canterbury Football Association was held last night. Mr B. English, th» president, was in the chair. Present —Messrs B. B. Walker, F. L. Eastgate, E. B. Bunt (secretary),. G. W. Bagrie, H. G. Shouler, G. W. Bobb, H. McCreanor, H. Bassett. R. Wood, W. Duncan, Kniglte, A. E. Sharaian, and Bentley. A letter was received from the Wellington Football Association stating that it waa desixablo that a Christohurch representative team should go to Wellington to play a match. _ The Wellington Association would pay train and steamer fares, and general expenses for the one day, June 3rd, the playQij to arrive and leave on the same day. After some discussion, it was decided that the offer should.be agreed to, the match to be a friendly game, not connected with any competition.

A letter from ilie New Zealand Referees' Association in regard to corner kicking eaid that the old rules for refereeing in this matter were to be adhered to until further notification was received from the parent body in "Wellington. Mr R. B. Walker wrote acknowledging his appointment to' the position of vicepresident of the Association. The question of players' insurance came before tho Association. The secretary stated that no insurance body would coneider team or club policies for players, though individual policies insuring players against twelve months' continual illness., caused by accident received either upon the football field or elsewhere, migiit be secured.

TROPHY FOR NEW ZEALAND. (BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPTWOHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND JT.Z. CABLI ASK LONDON, April 28. At the annual meeting of the Football Association, tho chairman. Mr. Clegg. presented the Australian representative, Mr Gibbe, with a handsome trophy for transmission to the New Zealand Association, similar to those presented to South Australia and Canada.

Mr Clegg said that the trophy carried on it the best wishes of the Council for the success of the game in New Zealand and the prosperity of its governing body. He regretted that the on its way to Australia -would be unable to visit Now Zealand. It was possible the New Zealamders' wishes would bo mot on a future occasion. "*

Mr Gibbs, in accepting the trophy, echoed the regret that the team wa» not visiting New Zealand. He said the fact' had canoed profound disappointment. On behalf of New Zealand he accepted tie trophy with gratitude. The Council decided to recommend to the annual meeting that the offside law 'be amended so that there need bo only two players, inr.rndmg && goalkeeper, itt front ai the player receiving the ball.

Norwich Consistory Court was asked recently for power to remove a memorial to Major-General Sir Charles Townshend, the hero of Kut, which had been installed in the churchyard at East Bayoham by Dame Alice Townshend, his widow. Dame Townshend' is alleged to have omitted to obtain, a faculty front the Norwich Consistory Court, and - the rector and churchwardens now desire to remove the memorial and to compel her to pay Hie cost of reparation.
