RURAL DELIVERIES.
FURTHER EXTENSIONS PROPOSED.
Although Canterbury's back-block? and districts not served directly by the railways have ben provided, during the past five or six months, with rural deliveries, there are still a few districts that do not enjoy the advantages of this method.
The Chief-Postmaster, Mr ( J. E. Broadfoot, who returned to town yesterday afternoon after visiting the Methven and Hororata districts,, told a reporter' that preliminary discussions had taken place between residents in those districts and himself relative to the establishment of a rural delivery in the district lying between Methven and Ashburton, and for a rural delivery to serve the Hororata district.
Matters are still in the initial stages in respect of both proposals, but more will be heard of them in the near future.
