A WclTington Press Association telegram states that Mr Massoy, who celebrated his 69th birthday on Thursday, was the recipient of many congratulatory telegrams from all parts of tho Dominion. His health is reported to be steadily improving!

Wylde-Brownc, manager of the Bank of New South Wales, Amberloy, has been transferred to,the managership of tho Marton branch and will leavo for the N-jrth Island early next month.

The Invercargill agent of the Press Association 'telegraphs:—Mr S. McC. McDonald, the well-known bootmaker of this city, will stand in the Reform interests for the Invercargill scat at the general election. He is likely to have the support of the Prohibition vote.

Sir John Cecil Dr.vies, C.8.E., managing director of Baldwins, Ltd., steel iirvl tinplate manufacturers, South Wales, is at present on a tour of the world and arrived a. few weeks ago in Australia by the Orient Co.'s new liner Oronssy. Sir John, who is accompanied by Lady Davies and their youngest son, Charles, intends (visiting New. Zealand and is expected in Christchurch.
Mr A. A. McLachlan, 8.A., LL.B., who has been lately appointed honorary secretary of the Open-Air Schools' Council, will leave Christchurch early next week for Dunedin on legal business. He will also visit Central Otaeo in the interests of the Council. Mr McLachlan was admitted yesterday as a barrister of the Supreme Court by his Honour Mr Justice MacGregor, on the motion of Mr C. S. Thomas.
