Professor Lodewvek, lecturer in Germanic languages at the Melbourne University, who returned to Australia last week, visited various phonetic libraries in Central Europe. He says that these libraries are collecting phonograph records of all the languages and dialects of the world, including those of fastdying races, famous people of to-day, etc. The singing of all kinds of birds, and cries of animals, aro secured on records, and will be kept immortal in these libraries of sound.
