HOCKEY.
SELWYN CLUB. The fifteenth annual meeting of tho Selwyn Hockey Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. Buildings last evening, Mr W. H. Down presiding over a large attendance of members. The annual report showed that the club had made substantial progress during the past season, tho membership having increased to' fifty-three. Tho teams had met with great success in tho competitions. The senior A team had won the Canterbury Association's competition for the seventh consecutive season, and the senior B team had finished third. Tho junior grade had won in their competition. In the five-a-Si-Je tournament tho senior A team also had been successful. ISight members had sue ■ ccoded in gaining representative honours in the Canterbury A team, and four had been included in the Canterbury B eleven. Tho balance-sheet proved that tho club was in a sound financial position, there being a credit balance of £l7 15a I'd. In moving the adoption of the report aild balance-Sheet, the chairman congratulated the senior team upou its splendid performance during the season. The,club's senior el&vcn had succeeded in establishing a record for New Zealand in winmitg ihe senior championship for seven consecutive seasons. It was decided to accept five schoolboys as members, free of subscription, for one vfcar. Two new adult members were elected, and eight resignations were received 1 . 'Smith; hon. auditor, Mr I). M. Hill; club captain, Mr H. E. Bell; selector (sbnior grade), Mr W. 11. Down; delegates to Canterbury Hockey Association. Messrs L. Bvers, M. Bell, and F. Faulkner; executive committee, Messrs L. Bycrs, W. Bell, F. Faulkner, P. Richmond, and W. Ewart. The advisability of presenting a cup to be competed' for on the lines &t the Petersen Shield was discussed, 2nd it Was decided to approach the Canterbury Association on the subject.
The, secretary was instructed to attempt to arrange for matches for all grades against Technical on April 4th.
RANGIORA CLUB. The fourteenth annual general meeting' of the Rangiora Mcr.'s Hockey Club was held on Wednesday night, Dr. J. M. Allen presiding. The report stated that tho club had been in abeyance since 1013, and at a meeting of supporters of hockey held recently, it was decided to resuscitate it. Correspondence was received from the Canterbury Hockey Association advising the club to sesk affiliation aa soon as possible. Tho sub-committee appointed to report on the rules presented their report, which was adopted. It was decided that the club colours be white and green. It waa agreed to affiliate with the Association. Fifteen new members were elected. The election of officers resulted as follows : Patron, Hon. D. Buddo, M.P.; president, Dr. J. M. Allen; vice-presidents, the Mayor (Mr "W. A. T!owse). It was decided that the Subscription be 10.«, reducible to 5s if paid "before May 30th. A sub-committee was appointed to enquire and arrange for a suitable gtound and ropou at a future meeting.
