TIMARU. Social and Personal. Mrs Edmonds (Auckland) is visiting Miss Knowles (Arthur street). Miss Bradbury (Christehureh) is the guest of Mrs G. Nelson (Grey road). Mrs Malfroy (Sefton street), who has been visiting the "West Coast and Eangiora, returned to Timaru yesterday. Captain and Mrs Redmond Xeill ("Barossa") intend to leave for England about the middle of next month. Mrs N. Powell, Miss Powell, and Mrs S. Strettlo (Melbourne) arc visiting Timaru. The Rev. F. De Lisle and the Rev. H. J. Ralph (New Lynn) are the guests of tho Eev. and Mt3 T. Wilson Fotts (Theodocia street). Passengers to Mount Cook on Saturdav were Mr Knight and party of four, Dr. Dick and Mr Ladley (Christehureh). They will go to Pembroke early in ithe week. Bishop and Mrs Wilson and Miss .T. Wilson (Bunbury, West Australia), who were at Holme Station, went, to Christchurch on Friday on a visit' to Archbishop and Miss' Julius ("Cloudoslcy," Cashmere Hills). The Wea,ther. The nor'-wester which blew all day Friday again sprang up ou Saturday -and continued throughout the day, although the atmospheric conditions were not so unpleasant as on the previous day. WAIMATE. At the monthly meeting of the- A. and P. Association, hold on Saturday, Mr T. Hamilton presided. The resignation w;is received witli regret of Mr W. Duncan. Tho secretary, 'ilo.val Agricultural Society, wrote 'thai the conference would be held during Mfcj'i and would liko remits dealing agricultural and nastoral mattery Alio Canterbury A. and P. Association i jinked for information in loierenco to tho date of the 'Waimntc Show. It waus decided to hold it on the 'liiursday after tho Christehureh Show. Correspondence was also received from tho Canterbury A. and P. Association m regard to* amending tho conditions of Clause 2 referring to fat lambs suitable for export. At Loval Heart of Friendship Lodge, .ALU., "1.0.0. F., Bro. W. 11. Hindi presided over a good attendance, isielc „ pay, amounting to £6 ss, was passed for payment. Delegates to the annual district meeting on March -Oth were appointed. The lodge then opened in blue degree, when members were instructed by tho lecturemaster and admitted into the degree. A commit tew was formed to attend to tho entertain-, ing of visiting. brethren who have accepted an invitation to bo present next lodge night.
