RUGBY.

CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The fifty-eighth annual meeting of the Christchurch Football Club was held on Thursday night, Mr J. R, Evans presiding over a good attendance of members. The following officers were elected for the ensuing ye3r:—President, Mr John Anderson; vice-presidents, Messrs J. R. Evans, J. S. Middleton, A. L. Jones, C. S. McCully, G. G._ Dennistou, and L. C. Matson; club captain, Mr E.. G. Seed; deputy-club captain, Mr A. I. Hughes; honorary secretary, Mr A. 0. C. Kobilli&rd; assistant-honorary secretary, Mr I\ S. Taylor; honorary treasurer, Mr A, I. Hughes; assistant-honorary treasurer, Mr H. B. Godfrey; committee, Messrs P. Kirby, H. S. Feast, A. R. Henderson, and N. P. McGregor; Bocial committee, Messrs W. Mclvin, M. Pengelly, J. Dalton, J. Jackson, A. Johnson, G. Morris, B. P. Jones J. A. Fyfe, J. Bell, A. T.' Fleming, G. Laws'on; honorary auditors, Messrs D. E. Jacobsen; third grade. Mr D. Hcßae; fifth grade, Mr W. J. Anderson; schoolboys, Mr J. A. Fyfe. It was' decided to support the proposal that a Benior B grade should be created. Opening day was fixed for to-day (Saturday). It was decided to send s letter of congratulation. to. the All Blacks on their arrival in New Zealand.

It was reported that Miss Cutlierall had given two medals fqr competition by members of the senior team. The medals were to be given for the most improved player in the backs and in the forwards.

It was reported that the welcome homo dance to the two All Blacks, A. C. C. Robilliard and N. P. McGregor, had been postponed until March 20th.

LINWOOD CLUB. All members and intending members of the Linwood Rugby Football Club are requested to turn out for training at the Polo Grounds at 2.30 this afternoon.

OLD COLLEGIANS' CLUB. A general meeting of the Eugby section of the newly-formed Old Collegiauß' Sports Club waa held last night, Mr A. E. Flower presiding over an attendance of 45.

Fifty active members have already joined the club and it is anticipated that others will sign Tip before the season starts. The following' officers were elected:—Club captain, Mr H. M. Chrystall; field captain, Mr L. El Cooke; secretary and . treasurer, Mr C. W. Harris; committee, the officers and Messrs T. "W. Tothill and C. Morris.

Opening day was fixed for April 4th.

It was decided that the club -colours should be white jerseys with thin blick hoops, black stockings with blue and gold bands, the proportions to be settled by the committee.

Club rooms are being procured, and they will be available to all sections of the-sports club.

It is proposed to enter one junior and one president's cup team in the Rugby Union competitiors this season. Application has already been made to the City Council for the use of Elmwood Park.

LEAGUE.

SYDENHAM CLUB,

Tke twelfth annual meeting of the Sydenham League Club was held on Thursday evening. Mr G. McEwin presided over an attendance of about fifty members. Mr T. Kirton congratulated the members on the club's good financial position. He added that this was mainly due to the treasurer's keenness and willingness. Tn the annual report special attention was drawn to the fact that every grade competing last year under the red and blue colours went very close to the top rung, while the junior team won the knock-out competition. The death of the club's president, Mr Andrews, sen.,. was deeply regretted. In Mr Andrews the club has lost a keen and energetic worker, with an enviable reputation for sportsmanship. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted: —Patron, Mr T. Wiltshire; president, Mr "W. Pritchard; club captain, Mr G. McEwin; deputy-captain, Mr O. Rowe; honorary secretary, Mr P. H. Cotton; assist-ant-honorary secretary, Mr T. Forrester; honorary treasurer, Mr E. Sollett; honorary auditor, Mr O. H. B. Poore; general committee, Messrs P. Tonks, E. Walker, S. Clegg, J. Harris, G. Clegg, E. Black, and 11. Dymond, jun.; delegates to Canterbury E.L.F., Centre, Messrs E. Black, T. Kirton, and G. McEwin*,' members of selection committee, Messrs P. Matthews, jun., S. Clegg, and. J. Harris.
