TO-NIGHT'S.SPORTS. The arrival of Willie Spencar, the world's crack sprinter, is only a matter' of a' few days now. To find the best sprinters in New Zealand, the management has gone to considerable trouble in arranging" tests, so that every rider has a-chance. to qualify. The three-mile scratch race started the ball rolling, the first seven to finish qualifying for the series of races that will finally find the riders to represent. New Zealand. Last Saturday's races were very interesting, the different testa being watched. . very keenly by the large crowd at the Stadium. The riders qualifying for. the isemi-finals/ are Jack Henderson, Billy Leathern, Eddie Marra, and Maurie Low, who had a walkover in his semi-final. To-night Henderson, meets Low and Leathern meets Marry. The winner'of these'two tests races off, awl, tho winner meets Phil O'Shea, who, -by winning the three.mile scratch race, qualified for the final last Saturday week. The final will be run on Wednesday, the 25th, the day Spencer is expected to arrive. It will .be a race to be remembered, as to have the chance to meet a rider of the calibre, of Millie Spencer does not happen every day. A special attraction is a threedistance match race between Frank Carey (Australia) and Jack Henderson (New Zealand). Carey is showing exceptional sprinting ability and will certainly keep Kehderaon busy. Derry s special hand will - play choice selections. . The usual complete special tram service will be at patrons' disposal. Should the weather be unfavourable a postponement notice wil? t>e posted at the tramway shelter. -
